This scene, which contains what Fred Astaire called 'the greatest dance number ever filmed' was filmed in the 1940s, so there's really even less of an excuse. (Not that it wasn't one of the exceptions rather than the rule, but look, black people in a 1940s movie who aren't all in service positions.)
