My Press, My Press

It's still in storage but I took Scott out to visit it today, because it is lonely and wants attention.

Me: "I've been thinking about a name for my imprint. What do you think of Common Grounds Press?"

Scott (completely unknowing): "It sounds like a coffeeshop. I want coffee. Can a printer make coffee?"

I shouldn't be this entertained by the conversation, but I am anyway.

Haha!

Sort of related, my daughter was telling me they were trying to get hold of a letterpress, of the type mentioned in your fabulous story (sorry brain dead, it's late here :D) and I had to bite my toungue before I told her all about Jim's :D

LOL, That's AWESOME!!!

Mine's a bit like Jim's Gold but has a motor instead of a foot-pedal. I ended up finding mine through Todd, who found it through Craigslist, but we'd been looking through the ads at briarpress.org here:
http://www.briarpress.org/classifieds/browse?t=38

Five Roses http://www.fiveroses.org/intro.htm also has a ton of good info and links, including pages to find presses and such.

Maybe that'll help. *is still way more a librarian than a printer*

Thanks for the linkies! I recently re-read Common Grounds, btw, and loved it all over again!

Actually, do you think you could give me a short writing prompt for printerverse? I want to get back into writing, but my brain is still pretty fried, and it looks at all of my WIPs and is like "waaaah." But I want to write about printing and I want to write about the boys and a wee prompt might fix my brain...
