About that Roman Empire Trend
How often do men think about ancient Rome? Quite frequently, it seems.
I asked the boys:
Scott: Um, probably once a day when I think of quotes by Marcus Aurelius.
Todd: Okay. Probably every few weeks, or once a month, when I teach about the Vindolanda tablets.

Looks intriguing. I will have to find a free reader.
I admit I think about ancient Rome a couple of times a week. Sometimes I have power fantasies of being a wealthy, healthy male Roman citizen exempt from military service or a great lady securely at the head of a large household. The possibilities of luxury would be nearly endless. But I'm glad that's not who I was. I get to know a lot more now and antibiotics and safe surgery are nifty.
