Extended geekiness

At long last my copy of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Special Extended Edition finally arrived in the mail! Hurrah!!!! Of course you realize, this means I must go to IMDB and find out where the Easter Eggs are...

Equally geeky is that the library finally coughed up a copy of From Scythia to Camelot: A Radical Reassessment of the Legends of King Arthur which I've been wanting to read forever, which is all about the reinterpretation of the Arthur legends with the Sarmatians/Iranians who were imported to Britain in the 200s. Woo!

Equally annoying however is that the library is wanting to recall Art Spiegelman's In the Shadow of No Towers...which I returned two months ago! Hopefully they'll straighten that out soon and they won't DARE try to charge me for it! Et TU, McKeldin???

Did other things like double-checking my insurance, going to work, all that good stuff. Also had a semi-odd conversation with Andrew which will have to be continued sooner or later. I am not sure what to make of what he said, but am hopeful of what, I don't even know.

Man, do I miss being boring!!

Do the same thing on disc 2 to uncover an MTV skit featuring Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn pitching LOTR sequels to Peter Jackson."

I got 23 rejections from Eharmony today! That's gotta be a record!!!!!!! I feel so weirdly proud of myself. I mean, really, how many girls can get that explicit kind of non-action?? :D

Also found out there's an Official Stargate Convention next weekend in Arlington. Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge will both be there which is exceedingly cool. Alas next weekend I'll have to buckle down and go to the Archives to do stuff, plus the whole lack of money issue. But I can sure think about it! Hee!

Speaking of Stargate, Michael Shanks is missing from the SG-1/Atlantis/Battlestar Galactica Friday promos. Are they fixing to put him in a coma and/or kill him again? Just wondering.
