Hopeful News! and Strangely Enough, Penises

My sis went to the doc today and it looks like they can do surgery next week to restore her sight--it turns out it wasn't a torn retina, but some pooled blood from the hemmorage (sp?), and fixing that's a pretty routine procedure to do. *happy bounce*

In other news, I applied for five jobs this evening, so hopefully I'll get a nibble, especially as they are sort of like what I do now, but more pay and all.

In emphatically nutty news, I got into a conversation about circumcision with Andrew this evening (apparently the wife is opposed to it and is now accusing him of supporting genital mutilation of both sexes....huh?). I told him that I have no penis and my contact with other penises has been pretty limited, but since he actually had one I reckoned he knew what he was talking about in the kid feeling weird about it possibly getting the snot beaten out of him when he got to be a teenager. Of course that brings up whole other questions about whether boys really DO stand around comparing that much, particularly when they allagedly have newspapers to read in the facilities anyway. I dunno.

I feel weird not having more to do right now.
