So I went to see Fantastic Four this afternoon, and I got my two hours and seven bucks out of it. I totally respect the whole "plot over SFX" stance, but all the same, well, some more eyecandy would've helped. As it was the most outstanding fight sequences came not from the film, but from the trailer for (and I kid you not) The Transporter 2. Yes, someone besides Luc Besson and Jeremy or Jonathan or whatever the hell it is Stratham ie "that white English guy who does kung fu" apparently thought that was a good idea. Nice advert though.

Back to F4. Ioan Gruffud sounds weird with an American accent though he's gotten a lot better at it than when he was on Century City. He's Welsh, he doesn't know what to do with vowels, he can't help it. But he should've spent less time being freakishly stretchy and more time being, y'know, half naked. Honestly, why does the dude from The Shield get to be the one without the shirt when we have Ioan and Chris Evans?? Unfair! Nyah num. Btw, I also want to learn snowboarding now.

F4 was never one of my comic favs--I'm an X-Men and Sandman kinda girl. Plus well after the Cold War ended there never seemed to be a point to it, which is illustrated by the fact that since JMS has taken over the title its become much more of a soap box/opera dealing with family issues and blah blah, which okay worked for Buffy but I just don't know how well that flies with spandex uniforms.

Okay, I had more of a point but don't remember what it was. Anyhow I bopped down to Chinatown to see it and the Metro was reassuringly calm and late as usual despite the uppage in security color codes. I've also been on the verge of migrainage all day, which is maybe tied in to hurricanage or something. Okay I'll go find something else to do now.
