caitri: (spock)
Went to my old neighborhood this am for breakfast.

Sharing crumbies with the birdie...

This is an interesting conference. Quite a bit of food for thought and really looking forward to our presentation tomorrow.

Taking a short email and soda break. Also got a new notebook at CVS for my original fic project, which (she said optimistically) I'd like to work on this summer. Of course, I got a couple emails: I've got some revising to do on an article, got invited to rewrite my PCA talk as a book chapter, and, oh yeah, I was trying to rewrite my Slayage talk for a Slayage article due, uh, Monday.

... That was actually what I was meant to be doing. Before the email. And the, ah, posting.

... I think I have a few addictions at work here. Sigh.

Blame [livejournal.com profile] epiphany_gun!

1) Favorite song to randomly burst out singing?

Tends to most often be one of the following: "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life," Blur's "Song 2," "Livin' On a Prayer," or the "Llama Song." but I will randomly burst into snippets of other things too, depending on context or sugar/caffeine intake.

2) First online fandom you got into?

Gargoyles. Back in long ago 1996.

3) Chris or Karl in an ultimate showdown. Who do you choose?

I...I...I... *BRAIN EXPLODES* *DIES*

4) Buffy or Firefly? Why?

(I think I hate you.) Firefly. If I can't grow up to be Jim Kirk, I wanna grow up to be Mal Reynolds. (Too bad I'm already Kaylee...)

5) Favorite comic book character?

Shadowcat. Despite being a Marvel creation, she managed to be a believable teenager girl who never wore scary scary outfits, was able to angst without whine, somehow skirted Mary Suedom (in fact her boyfriends seemed to be their authors' Gary Stus--I'M LOOKING AT YOU, WARREN ELLIS AND JOSS WHEDON), and was in general just awesome. So awesome, Ellen Page played her in the movies. *S*

BTW It occured to me this hotel reminds me of the hotel in The Shining. Check it out:
