A Brief RL Update on Ridiculousness

So I had planned to have an epic vacation picspam tonight, but I'm too tired. See, after a day of traveling--including one of the bumpiest plane descents I've had in a while--I got home from vacation to find the water heater tank leaking. This cued a panicked call to landlord and to a couple of friends for advice, cos I am a fairly useless person irl. I was mildly comforted to learn that in fact there was NOTHING I could do but spread towels and bail out the pan thing under the tank, which had been full to overflowing. I put a bucket under a leak and proceeded to spend the next hour and a half bailing, at which point the plumber called.

HE: I'll just come by tomorrow in the morning. How bad is it leaking?
ME: Uh, the bucket is half full like EVERY FIFTEEN MINUTES!
HE: Oh. Uh, I'll swing over then.
ME: YES PLEASE!

So he brought his super plumber pliars and turned the tank off and then he's going to come tomorrow at 5 to actually replace it. Which works out cos I can go in early and have a half-lunch and then not have to take time off to deal with this.

Anyway, I'm trying to look on the bright side. The leak could have been much worse, cos the tank is in the game room with my tv and computer, but the water was not remotely near that. I think it must've started just a bit before I got home, so nothing got grody.

But still, a cold shower after a long day of travel is like adding insult to injury almost. /grump
