Gratuitous Snippet is Gratuitous
Jun. 28th, 2012 12:45 amI have a cold and am wired on dayquil. Here, have some printerverse WIP crack:
“CG latte for Primrose Everdeen!” Jim calls out.
Raven pauses at the name; no one else steps forward for the drink, and the barista waggles his eyebrows at her. “Primrose Everdeen!” he repeats, and a few people start to look bemused.
“This is a joke, right?” Tony asks, but Steve nudges him to quiet.
“I volunteer!” Raven calls out clearly, and walks over to get her coffee. “I volunteer as tribute!” Spontaneous applause breaks out from some of the students nearby; she mock-curtsies and leaves with a bounce in her step.
“Where did you bring me, Rogers?” Tony’s eyes are narrowed into suspicious slits.
“Leave no meme behind,” Jim says, and he and Steve swap companionable salutes.
