Blergh

A couple weeks ago my mom fell and broke her leg, and had to be put in rehab because she can't manage by herself. After about a week she caught Covid, which she weathered, and she was removed from isolation on Sunday. The rehab center wanted to discharge her today, but my sisters have been doing the leg work so she can stay there a while longer because, again, she can't take care of herself with a broken leg.

Last week, I was told that a colleague that I admired fiercely had passed away unexpectedly. There is a gap in our field now. I am trying to work on a paper I'm giving in April and regretting that I won't get to talk to her about it.

I am keeping my head above water, more or less. But I would dearly love a break.
