Mom: Well what are you going to wear?
Me: Er...I'm thinking my usual cargo pants, and a Stargate tshirt?
Mom: ...Okay.

And then she started talking about Buffy's wedding (yes, that is the name of her best friend's daughter, no she is not a vampire slayer, SADLY). IDEK.

Oh, oh, oh! You have to ask if he's been on the Mission:SPACE ride in Disney World, and if he thinks that the zero-Gs simulator is as much like the real thing as they say it is.

(Or, well, that's what I'd ask an astronaut....)

We rode it back in 2004. I remember astronauts riding it on the unveiling and said it was the closest thing they'd come to real space travel. We just got sick, as you're in a centrifuge. Seems a LOT of people get sick and the airsick bags in the chamber are not for show. we had to sit on a bench for about half an hour before we could continue anyplace else.

Yeah, my cousin's an EMT, and she was on vacation with her family the first month after they opened the ride in EPCOT - she ended up having to, like, do her awesome life-saving thing with a puke-victim after the ride. On the minus side, other people's puke while on vacation. On the plus side, Disney gave their whole family free line-jumping passes to get back on the ride whenever they wanted for the rest of the day....

Also, poor you! I'm guessing you're not a big fan of the Gravitron, then ;-)
