A Book a Day: Milk and Honey
Jul. 28th, 2020 03:00 pm Every day I'm sharing an image of a book I like. Now, a lot of people don't like Rupi Kaur, because she's popular and/or instagrammable and/or whatever. But I think she combines short poems with drawings in a way that is very visually and linguistically spare that just *works* for me. She talks about trauma and emotions in a way that isn't quite lyrical, but nonetheless hits just right. You can read either of her books in the span of an hour, maybe, but you're going to be put through the wringer emotionally.
