It is honestly one of the best comic book movies ever made. Up there with Spiderman.

It is also an excellent homage to the original movies; they use the retro-style for the opening credits, the John Williams theme, and Brandon Routh looks uncannily like Christopher Reeves in spots (the film is also dedicated to Reeves).

It also perfectly manages that homage to the original and still take it new places.

Lastly, Kevin Spacey totally rivals Ian McKellan for best "badass subtextually gay villain" ever.
