My boyfriend is currently obsessing about digital map projection.

Yes, Virginia, there are geeks, and then there are GEEKS. Geeks play Dungeons & Dragons and know Tolkien in and out and can quote endless amounts of pop culture. GEEKS cruise eBay looking for $500 projection equipment so they can have little boxes of light in tables to put little metal figures on instead of posters or those wipe-board things.

Wow.

Sometimes, it's nice to know that one's significant other can (and cheerfully does) out-geek oneself.

Wow, that's such a great idea. I'm going to have to consider that next time we get 3 pay checks in a month. Only problem is I don't have a good way to mount something like that. I could turn my TV sideways, but I don't want figurines dancing all over it.

Well I'm sure you can do the same thing with cheaper equipment. An added benefit is with proper hookups you can use your wall as a giant tv if you have a DVD-R computer, or otherwise the right kind of cables!
