I am Bad (But I Know the Power of the Soundbyte)

So I was walking down the street this morning going home from errands when I see some Democratic party volunteers asking for people to sign up for volunteer info, etc. I'm feeling good so I take it and start signing it. These poor kids are maybe 20 and their DP shirts are so faded it's sad. Well this nicely-dressed older fella walks up and starts haranging the guy I'm talking to, wanting to know why the Democratic party doesn't have a plan, we have such a great country, and does he know what Iraq is about, blah da blah da blah. I wait a couple minutes but the poor kid is overwhelmed and I'm feeling angrier and angrier at this guy who's picking on someone who's just doing their job and who can barely get a word in edgewise. So I hand the clipboard back just as the older guy says, "And look at what they did to Joe Lieberman! He was kicked out of his own party for what?" and I say, maybe a little loudly, "Cos he was acting like a GODDAMN REPUBLICAN, that's why!" And the old guy gapes at me, mutters he never uses foul language, and storms off. I turn back to the kid, and said, "Behold the power of the soundbyte. I got more across in five seconds than he did in five minutes." Then I wished him luck and told him I hoped they wouldn't get yelled at by any more jerks that day.

In retrospect I should've called the old guy a macaca and told the kid to read or watch Thank You for Smoking, where you learn: if you can't win the argument, just use distraction.

Yes I am evil. :)

Thanks! I was so mad at that guy, and the poor kid was clearly overwhelmed and didn't know how to argue back! I probably could've played less dirty, but again with the mad!!
