This movie came out for like two minutes back in the fall and I netflixed it out of boredom.

It is one of the best war films I have ever seen, not to mention best anti-war films I've ever seen. It's about Americans who joined the Lafayette Escadrille prior to the US entering WW1. It has some of the best camera work and SFX I have ever seen. You look at those little planes and wonder who would get in them, let alone do dogfights in them under fire. My TV is smaller than my desktop PC screen and I was utterly blown away; I am deeply bummed I didn't see this film in the theater. As it is I still felt a little woozy during the flight sequences. I don't think I can really recommend this movie enough!

In other news Scott signed the lease on a 2 BR house with a huge yard and converted garage in TX. We move in after the Japan trip. Squee!!

Will do. It's all very exciting and terrifying at once. Scott is also encouraging me to take my time with the job search to find something I'll be happy with, and use the rest of the time to write. I love the incredible support but I'm also not sure how comfortable I am at the prospect of no steady personal income. Is this what a quarterlife crisis feels like?

Yikes. I am so having the same dilemma.

I quit Large Corporate Job (mostly for my sanity's sake), and am doing some contract work, but I'm basically being supported by my (future) spouse. It's...weird. I want to avoid fifties housewife syndrome, but I'm also the one with more free time, so I cook and clean more.

Yeah, I get the feeling that's going to be me too. I don't think I'm too worried about the reality just yet (I think once we actually get to TX it'll be easier to look for a job), but the concept makes me feel a little ill. My family's also giving me grief because they disapprove. Scott has been kind of depressed since graduation while I've been supporting him because, in his words, he feels useless. I gave him a pep talk and he's perked up, but he's worried about me feeling the same way when we move.
