Grr, still can't believe American Hi Fi is playing in Athens the night I go home. Figures. In the meantime here's the lyrics to one of my fav songs as it is so apropos.

I can't believe I hung around with you all this time
You drove me crazy with your OCD girl you're out of your mind
I'm counting on UFOs to beam me up I just don't know
How long I can take this shit, I'm over it girl you gotta go

It's over, we're over
Just like in crimson and clover
We're sinking and I'm thinking
How the hell did we get so stupid?
It's the end, ex-girlfriend
I dont care what you think of me
So long, your gone
This is the breakup song!

One more thing before you go would you please give me my records back
My Bloody Valentine, The Pixies, Cheap Trick and Back In Black
You can keep the dog we bought but you can't go near the Standard Bar
Don't hang around, don't call my friends, They won't know who you are!

It's over, we're over
Just like in crimson and clover
We're sinking and I'm thinking
How the hell did we get so stupid?
It's the end, ex-girlfriend
I dont care what you think of me
So long, your gone
This is the breakup song!
So long, your gone
This is the breakup song!

It's over, we're over
Just like in crimson and clover
We're sinking and I'm thinking
How the hell did we get so stupid?
It's the end, ex-girlfriend
I dont care what you think of me
So long, your gone
This is the breakup song!
So long, your gone
This is the breakup song!
So long, your gone
This is the breakup song!
So long, your gone
This is the breakup song!

THIS IS THE BREAKUP SONG!!!

How about we say 'uncatergorizably unique' instead of freak or normal-challenged? I think it's good when a system can't fit you into a single slot.

It's a good thing I'm not on yahoo personals or match.com, then. E-H people send rejections? Is that really more polite than just ignoring the whole thing? Are they acting like they can tell you how to improve yourself? That must be entertaining.
Well then, a toast to rejection letters!

That does sound better, but then how to explain the fact that everyone at comic conventions are black shirts in the non-fascist sense?

There's a fair bit of ignoring at EH, but also people who say they don't feel chemistry when there's been no communication involved, or people who say they live too far away even though they are metro-accessible, or the even more cheerful "I'll email you!" followed by being closed off. Niice.

Let's not toast rejection. How 'bout the cheery diversity of human relations in all their gory glory? (Two toasts if you can say that three times fast...)

I suppose the black shirts signify something like 'hey, I belong here with all these other misfits' or 'I unique, too!'-- just like I wanted to be as unique as my friend who took the survey.
But that's human history- the challenge of finding your unique voice within a community.

the cheery diversity of human relations in all their gory glory!
the cheery diversity of human relations in all their gory glory!

and let's make that the cheery diversity of humans, as well.
cheers!

Oy, you didn't make it three times!

Yes we are all individuals.

GodDAMN we're philosophical for a Saturday night. But then Brit wit doesn't seem to be on so there's nothing better to do anyway. :(

shit.
I got the three cheers and the two toasts reversed.
Have I upset the balance of the universe?

I've been in the midst of a long philosophical thread with an LJ friend- but then my career wishlist is 1. professional woodbutcher, 2. musician or 3. philosopher; and I'm glad those are all satisfying vocations because there is no money in any of them.

I'm off to check out a band.
