Just So's It's Official-Like

Scott and I are doing a Firefly-themed wedding. His family is non-too-thrilled, cos, well, they're stuck up in multiple ways. However it does cheer me to think of their faces when they realize they'll be stuck for several hours in a room largely filled with Southerners saying things like "We will rise again, gorrammit!"

We've decided to go with Scott as Mal and me as Inara. I've found a pretty red wedding sari that's very Inara-like (and at a fraction of the dresses I was looking at), and so far we've tracked down a proper browncoat, gunfighter trousers and suspenders, and Mal's gun replica.

I actually like this song sufficiently to ask Scott if he wants to do a dance to it... (Cos really, can you imagine the faces of the folks from New Jersey, New York, and Maine while it plays? I mean, really?)

Not really, since I'm not a huge fan of that sort of thing. Frankly I'm in favor of just obtaining some Inara-esque bling and calling it a day on the personal decoration front. ;)
