Blame Andrew.

Keyes is an Irish chick lit writer who, a bit like Jennifer Weiner, does "serious" chick lit. It's serious because her characters have a tendency to be battling depression as well as lousy boyfriends, etc. All the same this one was lighter than the other of hers I had read, Angels.

What I suppose is fascinating is how I can't really stand any of her characters but find myself pretty immersed anyway. Lisa is a bitchy magazine editor going through a divorce, Ashling a plainer office "Ms. Fix-It" on the rebound, and Clodagh is a superficial stay-at-home Mom who reads too many novels--much in the style of Madame Bovine, I mean Bovary--and then embarks on an affair. At various points you gain unexpected sympathy for Lisa and really dislike Clodagh.

Pretty good for the commute but don't expect anything beyond something to pass the time with.
