Today I'm walking down the street doing my Monday errands, when this guy walking in the opposite direction gives me an odd look, then stops me and says, "Hey, are you that missing girl?"

To which I reply, "Um, not that I know of."

Short story shorter, he'd read an article in today's City Examiner about a missing UM student from Rockville, and he thought I looked like her. "Glad you're okay though!" he says as he continues on his way. So I go find a copy of the relevant paper to find my doppelganger. Somewhat disappointed to find that we don't look too much alike--basically our similar traits are limited to being white, and having brown hair and glasses. She was heavier than me and given to flowery clothing.

Kinda darkly funny. I guess it's mostly a comment on how few people wear glasses these days or something.

Yes, I plan to try again this year. It should be easier this year since I won't be moving (knock on wood). Mentally casting about for ideas so I could try making an outline beforehand. I'm thinking about returning to the Pine (fantasy) series I wrote stories in in undergrad.

In other news, I wish this shirt was business cas so I could wear it to work...
