Obligatory Holiday Freakout Post
Dec. 13th, 2018 12:45 pmIt's two weeks 'til Christmas and I have almost none of the things done I need to have done. Like, you know, holiday shopping, food planning, dissertation revisions (I have one refurbished chapter and...four to go....), and so on.
On top of that, the house we really liked in Illinois had a big price drop ($25k) last night so we're going to make another offer on it--the sellers refused last time because they want the house sold before the new year for tax reasons and we wanted a contingency contract in case for some reason my job offer falls through (it's not likely, but...it could happen). Scott thinks we should just bite the bullet; our worst case scenario is Illinois doesn't come through and we have a rental property in a different state for a year or something. But, we'll see.
On top of that, poor Bilbo has had some kind of infection and we have antibiotics and probiotics for him. He was really pathetic the other night--I ended up sleeping on the couch with him so I could take him out every hour or so--and almost as pathetic last night; he was shivering with a fever so I got out the heating pad and put a towel under it, and he curled up on it most of the night.
So basically I am sleep-deprived, stressed, and trying to sort out a bunch of major life change issues.
And all I REALLY want to do is sleep and write fic. (I started an SPN fic last night and have just over 600 words of indulgence. We'll see what happens.)
