Observations on seeing Star Trek a Third Time

1) Nurse Chapel is on the Enterprise! You see her in the background and McCoy calls out to her at one point.

2) Scotty has a pet tribble in a cage on the Delta Vega outpost.

3) Nero's right ear gets a hunk eaten out of it at some point between meeting the USS Kelvin and the USS Enterprise.

4) Where's Gary Mitchell?

3) Nero's right ear gets a hunk eaten out of it at some point between meeting the USS Kelvin and the USS Enterprise.

Perhaps there was an action sequence dropped where we see Nero fleeing the crippled bridge of his ship after it is rammed by the Kelvin. So Nero takes a blow to the head along the way.

That would also explain the improvised battle-bridge in the cargo bay on Nero's ship.

*I'm a Huge Dork Alert*

So apparently there are references in the comic book to the time between the Kelvin and the Enterprise when Nero was in a Klingon prison (question: How did he get there since he has the bad-assest ship that later nukes their armada?). There was also apparently a clip of this in an early trailer that got cut from the final film, but you see Nero beating off two Klingon guards.

Finally saw it this weekend.

I have little to say but that I LOVED IT--and I'm really only a recreational Trek watcher. Sylar makes such a good Spock! And Chris Pine actually sold me on Kirk as a womanizing somewhat-bad-boy, which Shatner has never been able to do.

Also, I love Bones. And Scotty.
