Went to B&N to get the new issue of Lapham's Quarterly. The theme is Travel, which is nice. Although I never understood why vacation time is in the summer when the weather pretty much everywhere pretty much sucks.

Anyhoo, mini-grump, or more like a pet peeve: I hate it when publishers design a nice looking book, nice artwork, and nothing but praise on it. WTF is it about? If I don't know what it's about, I'm not gonna blow $15-30 for cryin' out loud. Why is it harder to write something descriptive like "This book is about Susan who has an unfortunate accident with a train" instead of "This well-woven tapestry of intense feeling will leave those who love Lewis enraptured..." WTF does that even mean?!?! (Note: not real references, just what I came up with out of my weird little head.)

Sheesh. Thank gods tomorrow's Friday.
