I Hate Colds, But I Like Making Tea

I think I got what Scott had last week: to wit, low grade fever, sniffles, etc. Also a bit of a sinus headache. Considering I had a 1 day bug a couple weeks ago I am EXTRA grumpy for being laid low again. Plus I feel horrible missing work because 1) we're really busy, 2) other people are sick as well. And I have shitloads of stuff to do that I'm too dopey to do, but I'm still ADD, plus I need to, but did I mention the dopey?

I HATE YOU TYLENOL COLD DAYTIME WITH YOUR LYING PROMISES OF NON-DROWSINESS!

I am bored but can't concentrate on anything. And I'd really like the new Gabaldon book to get here already so I can have something I'm really into to keep me occupied (it has shipped; Amazon estimated it would be here today; do I see it yet? Noooo), and I'm bored and lonely. The critters are good company, but still. And I have some books I'd really like to read for research purposes, but poststructuralist feminist critiques and Tylenol Daytime do NOT mix well.

Grump.

Y'all sound just like us--I picked up whatever S had last week, and am now all stuffy/sore throat. Not sick enough to stay in bed all day, but not well enough to really be doing all the stuff that needs doing (though I keep trying, because it's got to get done by somebody). I keep being afraid that in my fuzzy-brained state that I'm forgetting something important.

Also, having our car stolen from the parking lot last night (we're fine; one criminal was apprehended) didn't help. Now I've got to talk to insurance companies, rental car companies, etc., and still get to my internship in time to teach a 2 hour class today.

yeesh, I'm sorry to hear that! Few things suck more than having to deal with stuff when you're under the weather, let alone doing normal stuff plus uber-stressful insurancey things!!!!! **GERMFREE HUGS*

I called in again this am. My coworker is like, so what do you have, because we're all curious? I reassure her, it's basically just a bad head cold that I don't want to give everyone else; with any luck I'll be back tomorrow. She's all THANK GOD. It was funny.
