I don't think Oreos absorb rice milk the same way they do normal milk.

They just don't get squishy, or they get too squishy.

I'm sure there's some chemistry component involved, but still. Weird.

*waves* thought that i would come visit now that we have been made friends but the magic of bones/jim ust :)

and to say, i actually have the same theory about soy milk and oreos- where i think the already sweet soy milk takes umbrage at the sweet oreos invading its turf and retaliates by changing the chemical composition into something weird

Welcome to my world. It is a silly place. :D

And I've figured out I cant' have straight soy milk. The color just freaks me out. I can have it with cereal and stuff fine, but on its own? At least rice milk is white. Funny aftertaste but it LOOKS like milk.

I could give you a real science-y reason that has to do with the relative fat contents of the two beverages, but somehow that's just not as interesting after the "Epic Battle of Sugar-y Goodness" theory.
