BTVS: Spike.

Are you kidding me? James Marsters makes everything better. I STILL love that man deeply. Plus Spike could go from scary to adorable to heartbreaking to heroic...and he could do ALL OF THAT in the space of 45 minutes. Not many characters can do that--make you love them even when you hate them. Just wonderful.

LOTR: Eomer.

Was there a doubt in your mind? Horse-Lord. His sister and his uncle got more page/screen-time but whenever he was THERE he was AWESOME.

HP: Hermione.

I think Rowling did poorly by her quite often. She was smart as hell and ballsy in her own way, and she stood up to her friends and enemies. Come. On.

Trek: Kirk.

Was there a doubt in your mind? Tragic past, made of the awesome, crashing with his friends through space for ever. I. Want. To. Be. Him. That is all.

Me me me!

I always liked Eomer a lot. He wasn't my favorite (that was a toss-up between Sam and Eowyn) but he was definitely in my top five. Maybe he's #4 after Gimli. *g* Most of the characters in LotR (I'm thinking of the books, really) are pretty mature; they've had a lot of experience (except for the hobbits, really). In that sense, Eomer kind of stands out, since he's pretty young. But he really pulls it together and comes through, both in TTT and RotK. He's awesome. (And the scene where he revives Eowyn makes me sniffle.)

Well the scene that always killed me--and then killed me again when I reread it recently--is when he finds Eowyn's body and is convinced that she's dead, and basically rides into battle convinced he and everyone are gonna die--and he's okay with that. Just omg.

Dude for serious I love me some Spike. He is my fav Buffy char.

But I will always remember the ep where Buffy is invisible and Xander walks in on them and doesn't know about Buffy. "Doing in bed push ups." hahahahahahah. That will always crack me up.

I will admit that I love Kirk and Spike, but the right half of your brain maintains that McCoy and Giles are superior.

Re: Hermione. This so does not surprise me. She's not my favorite but I totally get why she'd be yours. Probably for the best anyway, all my favorites ended up dead. >_>
