I totally get that, I do, but in my mind (which actually gets explained earlier in this particular fic), AOS Winona and George obviously didn't give much thought to baby names and would've name a girl after relatives, just like Jim was named after his grandfathers. So, I have Genevieve Isabelle Kirk, named after her great-grandmother, instead of Jamie or Jane or any other J name you could think of. Ginny's even phonetically similar to Jim, which is a plus. ;)

(Ginny Kirk is pretty similar to Ginny Weasley in attitude, but looks like Emily Rose. You know, so you have a face to put with the name. ;) )

I've got real meta thoughts on girl!Kirk, too, which I should get around to typing up and posting, just to get my two cents in. I could go on for days about some of the more common genderswap conventions.
