Eomer frowned at the small, purple horse in his palm. He said nothing for a long while, and then, finally: "Why does it have books in its saddlebags?"
I tried not to exhale in relief too loudly. "Twilight Sparkle is the geeky pony," I said. "She likes books." I resisted the urge to make a comment about how she was my favorite, despite certain people's determined belief that I was, in fact, the human incarnation of Pinky Pie. But considering the Rohir was heavily armed and probably a bit superstitious--and I, y'know, wasn't--it seemed like a good idea to keep my mouth shut.
"Of course," Eomer said vaguely. "The--'geeky'--pony. That makes perfect sense."
He looked very sad and lost, then. I would probably have felt worse about it if it wasn't as cute as it was terrifying.
