We Now Return to Regularly Scheduled Programming

Okay, so, now that the big tenure thing is done with--ish, I mean, I'll find out about the department vote before Christmas sometime, but the Big Mighty Decision by the PTB won't be until May--I sorta feel like I can pick up and live again. Like, seriously, Friday was the one thing that's been on my mind since like APRIL and now it's OVER, and--well I've kind of been in an exhausted pile over the weekend. The only thing I can think of that comes to close to this feeling is like when my wedding was over with, all these months and months of planning and now it was over and life can sort of pick up again, y'know?

So yesterday am I was running errands and while at Target got a bunch of cheap DVDs that I've been camping out with: S1 of Due South and Heroes and Northern Exposure, S2 of BSG, Roman Holiday and The Holiday (because yeah I need some shmoop with my crack and my Cylons, WHAT?). The most entertaining thing has been watching Due South, which I haven't seen since I was twelve or whatever, and realizing that I totes remembered the themesong, and wondering how as a kid I missed that they had FOUR dogs playing Diefenbaker and none of them really even LOOK alike. Must've missed it in the hormones, I dunno.

So I owe fic to several people. I'll get back to working on it bit by bit, I promise. I can't emphasize enough how much I have MISSED fandom!!!

I also got an email from Science Fiction Studies this am and they really like my Trek article but want me to revise to add some gender studies stuff and the fact that Zach Quinto just came out.

Class registration is in a couple weeks. I think I want to take a class on seventeenth century lit and a fiction seminar.

What else, what else...Oh, I have a meeting this week with HR to discuss the shenanigans of Arch-Nemesis, which I can take to the PTB after the vote goes through in ten days. Cos, seriously, three years is enough crap to take and now I can take the fight to her, and I'm reeeeally looking forward to it. *must work on captainly smirk*

So, what else is up, Internets?? I'VE MISSED YOU!!!!!!!

Yay! Fingers crossed about the tenure stuff. Oh man I remember watching Due South with my dad! Completely missed about the dog too!

Sorry I didn't comment on your other posts, but been getting the BB reading for posting. Now I'm sitting back and biting nails and hope that people like it. So I think a similar feeling to your relief, but yours more important than a story I posted up. :D

I hope you have arch-nemesis stuff all noted down with dates and times etc for HR (and no I haven't had to deal with a similar situation at all, why do you ask? ;) )

I hope I can catch up on fic-reading/writing now. Stupid rl getting in the way of fandom!!!! *grumps*

And nemesis stuff: We have a Folder of Doom with print-outs of emails and I started a notebook of incidents. She likes to do a lot of things verbally, but one thing she does is go after people at department meetings when, y'know, everyone is THERE, so there are witnesses to some of the crazy. I think if it comes to it it should be fairly easy.

yeah, that is the only way to deal with bullies. The problem though is that many of them still won't learn. There are still residual issues with a bully I and my family had to deal with over 7 years ago (lawyers got involved which did shut them up pretty smartly for a while). We have moved onto bigger and better things and they are still trying to cause issues. *rolls eyes*

There's a big white and gray malamute, two white and gray huskies--one with same color eyes and one with a blue eye and a yellow eye--and then a white and sandy-reddish colored dogs who does a lot of the up close snarling.

I...clearly pay way more attention than they expected... >_>

I hope you have all your ducks in a row to go after arch-nemesis. People like that make me crazy, but it's so hard to get enough documentation for TPTB to actually do anything about it.
