caitriThis week we've had fire alarms, bomb threats, and no running water at work, and it's *Thursday*. I am awaiting what fresh hell for today.
I'm also still ridiculously congested. And, AND, the Dean of Faculties tweaked their tenure guidelines again so despite the fact that MY Dean wrote his letter of support and sent it off two days ago I got an emergency email from P&T to create a summary data table to recapitulate documentation already there, which I have spent this morning thus far doing when I meant to be catching up on the THREE PROJECTS I NEED DONE.
I am tired, cranky, and phlegmatic. Cheer me up, please?

In the midst of books and broken bookcase, Bones curled up even tighter.
"Make today go away," he mumbled, and Jim picked his way across the floor.
"I think Scotty's working on time travel," he said, crouching down next to Bones' shoulder and patting it.
"Though," he continued, shifting a bit of plywood and sitting down, "I could just get you blind drunk and plot."
"... that would work," replied Bones.
He uncurled a bit.
"You want to tell me what happened?"
Bones snorted, sitting up and resting his head on Jim's shoulder.
"It'd take too long."
Jim wrapped an arm round Bones, pulling him close.
"I've got the time."
Bones smiled at that, closing his eyes and returning Jim's hug.
"No, really, it'd take too long. But thanks for asking."
"Anytime."
The two of them sat in silence for a while.
"So - takeout tonight?"
"Fuck yes."
"Anything particular?"
"Something I don't have to cook. At this rate, I'd end up setting the kitchen on fire."
Jim kissed his forehead, smiling.
"It'll get better. Promise."
Bones smiled at that.
"It already is."
