I'm writing an Avengers academic!au fanfic and just spent the last twenty minutes figuring out what Steve Rogers would have on his Lit of WW2 syllabus.

All I needed was ONE TITLE for a line, but then I started to think about how hed' want to organize it, and would he want only stuff from the 40s or would he want things like memoirs after the fact, and how would he handle the Japanese-American internment and does he like Art Spiegelman?

...Yeah, I'm ridiculous.

So, it's not a complete list, really. I tried to figure out how he would structure it, and figured he would maybe do a week of prewar stuff (possibly with Waugh, A Handful of Dust), then the different varieties of war experience, with memoir and fiction. For the scene I wrote last night, they discussed Utinski's Miss U. I think he will also have them discuss Maus later. >_>

Ironman gazed at the rubble of the building, the result of his epic fight with Magneto. "I must work up a poly carbonate replacement for this metal suit," he thought. Hearing a noise behind him he slowly turns, only to feel a burning pain as a small metal object slides between joints in his armor. Surprised, he sees a dapper man in bowler hat wielding an umbrella, the tip of which has found a damaged joint that allowed the surprisingly sharp tip to wound him.

"Mrs. Peel, we're needed," spoke the man in a crisp Oxbridge accent. "Someone has just levelled our flat."
