So 2012, huh?

I'm waiting at the airport for my shuttle home, and after that I'm going to ring in the new year with some friends.

So this was a good year. A hard year, but a good year. I went up for tenure and I started my doctorate. I wrote a lot. I made my own fun as I usually do.

Hopefully this will be a good year, too, but it too will be hard. I hate being away from Scott so much, even more so since I've been spoiled being with him so much these last few weeks. We've got a plan for getting together again, and it will involve some sacrifices on both sides, but ultimately I think it will work out.

Anyway, I want to wish everyone A Very Happy New Year! I hope you are safe, have fun, and are with your loved ones tonight!

Happy New Year! It's always interesting to read these little updates. I find myself cheering whenever you & Scott get to hang out together for a weekend or more and thinking "aw bummer" whenever you need to return to your respective cities. It's very silly, but imagining the two of you hanging out in bookshops/coffeeshops/Wow-ing, etc makes the world seem a little bit nicer. I hope your sneaky plan works out! :-)
