Continuing to recover from exams

by watching Gilmore Girls and pretending it's all somehow an epic Guardians of the Galaxy AU because I am ridiculous.

I have things I need to do, like finish a paper for next week and also do a couple of book reviews. But nope, eating ice cream and watching Gilmore Girls.

Yeah, it's not a real idea, just me being silly, but sort of the idea of teen!Peter starting a new school where he befriends Gamora and co., has to deal with her terrifying dad, her terrifying sister and terrifying sister's boyfriend, everyone drinks too much coffee, Gamora is militantly feminist, Drax is a football player, Rocket is the too-smart pyro in chemistry with his stoner bro Groot, and nothing can be worse than trying to bring your kinda almost sorta girlfriend home for family dinner with Yondu.

So, you know, CRACK.

Man, Peter and Gamora would have the most awkward coffee not!study dates wouldn't they?

Should Drax work at the coffeeshop instead?

Also, I can't get over how Jared Padalecki is such a little baby here. (I hadn't watched it in a while.) I shrieked a little. Scott came to investigate. I said "That's baby!Sam Winchester" and Scott squawked. It was pretty classic.

Oh god, such a baby. Squawking is definitely the appropriate response - as opposed to my shriek, largely resulting from having forgotten he was on the show until he appeared.

Drax at the coffee shop depends on if this new school of Peter's is in the same town as the coffee shop and if Drax was an old/is a new friend. Other than that, I can see it going either way.

But oh god, the awkward coffeeshop dates.... Most importantly: would the coffeeshop have a jukebox?

It has no music pre-1988, Peter has been going to the shop since he was a kid, he knows every single song on the thing.

For some reason I am convinced that Drax would be the one to introduce the cold bananas to the shop's menu.

You know, here's the way it is. The coffeeshop/diner is Meredith's; she got a job there when she was pregnant with Peter and then eventually bought the place. Peter "works" there sometimes but mostly hangs out there to stay out of trouble (it doesn't always work). Yondu is the cranky guy at the hardware store next door who always comes to fix things and disapproves of all the coffee Peter drinks and is somehow just always *there.*

Meredith wants Peter to have a better life than she had, which is how she wrangles a seat at the private school for him (with some assistance from Yondu). Peter is smart but not scholarly (surprise), but Gamora takes it on herself to help him survive because of his adorableness (and yes, pelvic sorcery). Hijinx ensue.
