DIS "What's Past is Prologue" Thoughts

 Everything has to be under a cut for spoilers.

1) I wonder if we'll ever find regular universe Lorca? Because if not, I'm gonna miss Jason Isaacs.

2) When Saru gave his big speech, I was expecting his ganglia to reveal themselves after everyone had left. Apparently the original conceit of the show was an anthology series following different ships/crews each season, and I kind of wonder if the original plan was to have the DIS crew go out in a blaze of glory at the end there.

3) So I was totally expecting the DIS to go into the future, but wasn't expecting it to only be nine months. I'm wondering if they are gonna end up time traveling to save the Federation. 

4) I love that we have Michelle Yeoh back. <3   .

1. His story was a little unclear to me -- it did sound like the Lorcas were swapped, which would mean the Prime!verse version is in the Mirror!verse, and I don't think we're going back there any time soon.

2. Hah! I thought he sounded sincere, which is just...very Saru. Great job, though, bringing everyone together.

3. Oh yeah -- they were totally not going to hit quite the right time-slot.

I was wondering about Lorca too! Jason Isaacs is so good. I feel like the show wouldn't be the same without him.

I am exceedingly excited I got to see Michelle Yeoh kick someone in the face. I would not at all mind if she somehow stayed on the Discovery and the crew gave her lessons on how not to be evil.

I thought all of the action sequences were absolutely phenomenal. And I love the idea of teaching Mirror!Phillipa how to be good. "No no, this is the Acting Captain, WE DO NOT EAT THE ACTING CAPTAIN!" "Well, yes, we shoot first at the Klingons, but like, in a friendly alpha sort of way, you know?" "--to Discovery, we under attack and need an emergency beam ou--oh wait, no, never mind, Phillipa just took down all thirty hostiles. Oh shit--thirty-one, I think she broke his neck with her thighs! I didn't even know that was something you could do in real life!" Etc. :)

Sideways, I just realized that the new Discovery novel coming out next month, which is gonna be about young!Lorca and young!Phillipa at Tarsus IV, is gonna be about a totally different Lorca. And this makes me kinda sad, in a weird, weird way.
