Conference went well but I still have So Many Deadlines because I am ridic.

Also slowly watching Luke Cage S2 and every time there's a scene of the Jamaican restaurant I basically have this pavlovian hunger response and all I want in the world is fried plantains and jerk pork, and there's none of either remotely near me. *cries*

And ah, Season Two! I thought it was a good second season, very different from the first.

I feel, about to go into ep 8, that too much of the plot stops so people can Have Serious Discussions About Their Parental Issues. At least once per episode I can't stop myself from going "Boo hoo, we all got dead people!"

Hah! We do. But I think being blamed by the remaining parent for the other parent's death, even indirectly, can mess you up more than usual -- on top of the whole Preacher thing...

Yeah, but it's not just Luke--it's Bushmaster and his family and Mariah and Tilda too. It's an interesting series of contrasting relationships, all of which are toxic in some/different ways. But woof!

OH GOD I WISH I COULD but also no bbq apparatus and we have a strict fire ban going on anyway.

I can think of ways to get a smoky roasted flavor indoors but it would probably scare the neighbors to see smoke billowing out your open window.

NGL a thought in the back of my head in recent weeks has been "if I get to go to Amherst and get to hang with Ny I wonder if she could take me to a good Jamaican place...." ;)
