A Book a Day: The Captive Mind

 Every day I'm posting an image of a book I like. This is one I read early this year and keeps coming back to my mind. It's partly a literary study and partly a political polemic, and I suspect some of the cases made would mean more if I were more versed in 19th and 20th c. Polish literature. At any rate, it's interesting to contrast writers who say things because they mean them, because it's politically expedient, or because it's fashionable, and likewise interesting to see who survives and doesn't.
