caitri | A Book a Day: Tolkien: Maker of Middle-Earth

Every day I'm sharing an image of a book I like. I'm also writing a piece on Tolkien today, so he's on my mind. Anyhow, this is the catalog for the exhibit the Bodleian did a few years ago, and honestly? It's an altogether brilliant condensation of Tolkien's life, work, and cultural impact. I bought the hardcover edition, which is printed on a lovely heavy paper stock that brings out the most in the many, many, *many* illustrations it contains. I've worked on numerous exhibits and catalogs, and let me tell you, I can only aspire to make something like this one day!
