A Book a Day: 1080 Recipes

 Every day I'm sharing an image of a book I like. I'm sharing one of my favorite cookbooks today because why not and also because we've been cooking way more these last few months. We always cooked a lot, but...you know. I particularly like this one because not only does it have some of my favorite reliable recipes, it also has a lot of exotic information on dressing meat....you know if I ever had to do that. The one drawback is a bunch of these dishes are designed for a bunch of servings, which makes me miss cooking for groups. One day we'll be able to have people over again though...

I do love cooking, but I *Really* miss going to restaurants and eating food that's hard to cook (or just challenging--I struggle with sauces, for instance--and also not! having! to do! dishes!!!!!!!!

I hear you. I love going to restaraunts for things I can't make at home (like pork and shellfish) or things that are difficult.

What goes wrong with your sauces? Do you mean gravy-type sauces or another type? Let us discuss :)

Well really it's that my favorite brunch thing is eggs benedict, and I can usually manage a poached egg, but a palatable hollaindaise has been beyond me. And the packet stuff makes me sad.

Hollandaise is difficult, being an emulsion based sauce. I haven't actually made it but Wolf has. I'll ask him for advice. He'll like that.
