"Please Step Away From the Art!" plus: So Close Yet So Far

Came home to find package from Overstock.com--the long awaited new Harry Potter!! Quickly ripped it open to find they'd sent the wrong one (I got the deluxe edition with the alternative artwork, cos, um, I'm a nerd like that)! ARGH! So I have to go through the whole return rigamarole now. I've already taped it back up in the box to more easily resist temptation.

Spent a fun day yesterday hanging out with neomagusx. We got too close to the pictures in the National Air and Space Museum and set-off an automated thingie telling us to Please Step Away From the Art. Like it's our fault we couldn't figure out what it was!! Oh well.

I am zonked. Neighbor Person is out walking the dog and I'm enjoying my roomies being gone. Hear that? It's QUIET! *S*S*S*

I still like the penny idea. Better yet, a sticker the same color as the floor (presuming it is a laser sensor and it's ceiling-to-floor). Depending on how paranoid you are, you want to be careful to avoid leaving a finger print. See, it's a good thing I'm not actively mischievous..

Since when did they make stickers in shades of carpet? At any rate I'm now trying to figure out the fingerprint problem...

Was it carpet? Thought it was wood or tile or something, but it's still doable. The fingerprinting problem isn't that hard to solve with preparation. Gloves. Just make sure you don't already have prints on it. :) Again, that's mostly for the paranoid, as they aren't likely to go through the trouble of collecting prints on a prank.
