I'm pretty torn up about it. I am so glad I kept myself spoiler-free otherwise I'd have been way too jumpy to enjoy it properly.

So, on the one hand, we have points of awesomeness: River's got it together, the origin of the Reavers, the general creepiness of The Operative, Kaylee and Simon hooking up FINALLY, and just great scifi.

And then, the deaths. I CRIED LIKE A BABY. If I had known He Who Soars Like a Leaf was gonna go, I dunno if I could've gone. I don't know if I'll be able to watch it again. That was SO SO painful. (Yes he was one of my favorite characters.) And then the Shepherd's mystery: ARGH. So much ARGH there.

Only Joss could make me love something so much it hurts.

Oh, yes. It just hurts so good...

The feeling of torn is why I didn't post ANYTHING after I saw the preview screening. I walked around in a daze for about forty-eight hours after the viewing, mostly due to He Who Soars Like a Leaf (cuz the Shepherd was the obvious sympathetic kill, though it still sucks that we don't know his background). On the second viewing, at the first "I soar like a leaf," I took off my glasses, buried my head in S's shoulder and stayed that way through the entire landing sequence because I just couldn't bear to watch it again.

I've been rewatching a few eps now, and it hurts HORRIBLY to see Wash on screen--and it was just awful to go to Dragon*Con and see people dressed as Wash who had no idea...

But yeah. Torn.

In cheerier news I've heard from Andrew that both Alan Tudyk and Ron Glass are signed up for sequels, in the event they have them (gods WILLING). Probably flashbacks but that's better than nothing.

I wonder how I'll be able to rewatch the eps now. I've yet to be brave enough (or honestly have time enough) to try...
