On Church and State
Dec. 6th, 2007 01:33 pmSo I got all fired up to write a scathing creed againt Mitt Romney and his "freedom requires religion" remarks, and then I read Atheists and Anger. And I decided that Greta Christina was way the hell more eloquent than I, and we would all be better served with her remarks.
One of the most common criticisms lobbed at the newly-vocal atheist community is, "Why do you have to be so angry?" So I want to talk about:
1. Why atheists are angry;
2. Why our anger is valid, valuable, and necessary;
And 3. Why it's completely fucked-up to try to take our anger away from us.
It's a long read for a blog entry, but well illustrated and put together, and generally the awesome.
