Just a Sci-Fi Kid Like Me

I keep waffling on whether the film was bad or merely mediocre. It was definitely too long and too Hollywood. Bits meant to be dramatic or comic relief were just fucking annoying. E.g. the running gag with the incompetent watch guard.

Seriously, you're the last Jews in Belorussia and you're hiding in the forest and you post a moron as your guard? REALLY???

Mindboggling, I tell you.

I think I may put a full-stop to watching historical dramas if they aren't done by BBC and/or HBO. They just hurt my head too much.

Off to ALA Friday. Why we're having a meeting in Denver in January is beyond me. Allegedly they pick cold places for the winter meetings and warm places for the summer meetings to keep costs down. In reality I don't expect Denver is all that cheap because the rest of the world is going there at the same time TO SKI.

Sigh.
