A scholarly dream

This afternoon I took a nice nap and dreamed I was writing a paper -- on a typewriter! with that very satisfying snap and ding! of the return! -- comparing The Witcher and Shadow & Bone and Aleksander Wat's My Century. The focus was really on the persecution of minorities and dissidents in all three.

Now I have no desire to write this paper because I have zero confidence I would do it well, but I would really love to read it.

(The not at all surprising conclusion was, I think, that no one with superpowers can ever save you in real life.)
