BTW, to make these, make the chocolate butter cake from THE BOOK, make the vanilla buttercream from THE BOOK and add half a package of crushed double-stuff oreos to the mix, then make the ganache from THE BOOK and dip the rest of the oreos in that. OMG is all. :D
THE BOOK is clearly the solution to any culinary question. To make a lovely lasagna? Begin with a basic butter cake from THE BOOK cut into short, 1/2 inch high layers with sundried tomatoes mixed in. Grill eggplant, red pepper etc. Layer. Top with red sauce from THE BOOK.
I haven't actually tried one yet, but it has the husband seal of approval. (He generally doesn't like cake. If he likes cake, it's an Awesome Cake.) :D
