So I sent the rough final draft of Heaven is Bloodless (ie the postcolonialist critique, Star Trek AOS/Kushiel's Legacy epic o' doom) to my beta this afternoon. Current word count is ~52k and I'm honestly not sure how much clean up there'll be when all is said and done, but I'm really hoping to have it posted within the week. (avictoriangirl is looking over it; concerned parties may want to send her booze and chocolate. Me, I just hope to finish her Jane Eyre/XMFC fusion fic.)

Um, so, I survived Christmas. I have a unique and special family that is(are?) the bastardization of William Faulkner and Tennessee Williams, and one day I'll write a charming memoir about it called Living Southern Gothic, but not today.

Living Southern Gothic is yes, actually, quite trufax. I didn't manage to entirely escape it this year either. Here's hoping the trauma is fleeting and the humor of the situation manages to rise to the surface quickly.

Yay to the final rough draft! If you want a third (or fourth or fifth) set of eyes to look it over, just let me know. I'm trying to avoid Tumblr until the Sherlock premiere, so I'm sure I'll find myself with a bit of free time on my hands this week. ;)
