Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] elanya:

Tell me about a story I haven't written, and I'll give you between one and three sentences from that story.

(My muse is very cranky right now. Sigh.)

I am forever hopeful for a sequel to Subject and Degree and Build in Sonnets. Maybe where Jim and Bones are married and have a small person of their own. Part of me is very curious to learn how John Donne-loving Professor Jim would handle bedtime stories. :)

"You're going to....read to him?" Leonard feels like a parrot, feels foolish, but can't help it. "Jim, you bring this kid home from the shelter, okay, you give him some of your old clothes and some food, fine, but--reading? He's fifteen, for cryin' out loud!"

Jim's eyes are the same blue as lightning when he's angry. "David's the same age I was when I got kicked out, Bones. Same reason, too. And I was lucky when Chris found me, and maybe it's a coincidence, but--" He holds the battered copy of Dickens up, so that the title catches the light. A Tale of Two Cities. "Books help, Bones," he says.

You are awesome and speedy! Love this so much. (And I agree with Jim completely.) Thanks, hon. :) Hope your cranky muse gets in line.

I;m also hopeful for a sequel to one of your fics. The Printer-verse to be exact. I'm interested to see how David comes into their lives in that verse.

So About Printer!verse David

[So teenage!Jim and Carol were close friends in Iowa and basically had a one night stand, but soon after was when Frank kicked him out of the house and Jim met up with Pike and ended up in San Francisco. Meanwhile Carol got all of the fun of being a teen mom, working her way through school and into med school, and through a series of events she ends up working at the same medical center Leonard does, whereupon there's a funny awkward reunion with a bonus extension of families. I have some of this written away, actually, I've just never finished it. >_>]

"Bones," Jim says, sounding dazed to his own ears, "I have a kid."

"So I understand, yeah." Bones is nonplussed; Jim thinks this is a good thing, but...

"I had sex with Carol. Years ago, you see."

Bones raises both eyebrows. "Really," and okay, yeah, that was definitely sarcasm, and actually, yeah, it does make Jim feel better. "I had assumed that was what led to David. Oh come on," he continues, "no matter what you might think, you are not God."

"Ego absolvo te," Jim says, but Bones is already getting out the bourbon and the glasses.

If I'd read anyone's take on Bones the Captain and Jim the Doctor, it'd be yours.

Leonard hissed as Jim pressed the hypo into his neck. "Dammit, man, I'm a captain, not a pincushion!"

"Could've fooled me," the doctor answered, long fingers dancing over his chest and abdomen, where half a dozen of the natives' darts had embedded themselves. It was damn distracting--and worse, he welcomed the distraction from the pain. "Does it hurt when I do this?" Jim pressed the tender flesh right by one of the darts; Leonard saw lightning and cried out.

"What do you think?" he asked weakly.
