I am forever hopeful for a sequel to Subject and Degree and Build in Sonnets. Maybe where Jim and Bones are married and have a small person of their own. Part of me is very curious to learn how John Donne-loving Professor Jim would handle bedtime stories. :)
"You're going to....read to him?" Leonard feels like a parrot, feels foolish, but can't help it. "Jim, you bring this kid home from the shelter, okay, you give him some of your old clothes and some food, fine, but--reading? He's fifteen, for cryin' out loud!"
Jim's eyes are the same blue as lightning when he's angry. "David's the same age I was when I got kicked out, Bones. Same reason, too. And I was lucky when Chris found me, and maybe it's a coincidence, but--" He holds the battered copy of Dickens up, so that the title catches the light. A Tale of Two Cities. "Books help, Bones," he says.
