Reload page in style: light

I love Halloween. I really really do. We were running errands this morning and all of a sudden there are pumpkins, black cats, bats, and all manner of things orange, black, and green about.

This being the short way of saying: Scott had to keep prodding me away from things. Except at World Market, cos, hey, who can resist "Zombie Zin" wine or bat pasta with artichoke sauce? (Something I did have to resist: pirate towels. We don't need more towels. But they were so damn cute!!!)

Anyhow. We are in early stages of planning a party for Samhain. The pumpkin-clove cake from the CakeLove book is a must, I think. I need to find a butternut squash soup recipe.

(This is my way of avoiding thoughts of work.)

Current Mood: cheerful

On a whim Scott and I had a Spanish Samurai party last night that was a lot of fun. Basically we called a gang of our friends, cooked tapas, and watched Rashomon and The Hidden Blade. I finally got to make a few dishes from 1080 Recipes, which is basically the Spanish equivilant of The Joy of Cooking. Tasty tasty!

Anyhow, I'm being kept uber-busy at work so expect short posts for a while.
